On the evening of November 29th, QAIC hosted a heartwarming event, “Healing Together,” for the Arab America Foundation. This gathering aimed to connect and empower Arab Americans as they came together to heal, grieve, and support one another amidst the ongoing war on Gaza.?The “Healing Together” event provided a safe space for individuals to connect on a personal level, fostering a sense of unity and support.

On December 8th, the Qatar America Institute for Culture (QAIC) proudly hosted a networking event in collaboration with the Muslim Americans in Public Service (MAPS) organization. Earlier this month, QAIC and DIYScent Studio collaborated to host another captivating Introductory Perfumery Workshop, where 30 participants delved into the intricate art of perfume-making. Led by Sherry Meredith, Founder of DIYScent Studio, the workshop featured with insights into the historical significance of fragrance and the unexpected origins of scents. Participants crafted two unique fragrances—one with a fresh amber base and the other with a warm amber base—choosing from over 100 scents.

In wrapping up the year with an opportunity for bonding and professional development, the QAIC team visited Urasenke Tea Ceremony of Washington DC. Following the tea ceremony, the team engaged in an enlightening Ikigai workshop, exploring the Japanese concept of finding purpose and fulfillment in one's life. The workshop encouraged self-reflection and collaboration, aligning with QAIC's commitment to holistic cultural experiences and personal growth.

In celebration of International Arabic Day, QAIC shared the joy of language by showcasing our unique QAIC alphabet. We gifted members of our local community with puzzles that displayed the alphabet, in hopes of encouraging the next generation to learn Arabic.
