Take Action: Join Fellow Veterans in Urging Washington to Support EV Investment in the U.S.
The EC's Veterans for EVs initiative recently launched a sign-on letter for veterans to communicate their strong support for the EV transition in the U.S. and to urge leaders in Washington to help create American jobs and strengthen our national security by taking measures to encourage domestic EV manufacturing. Read and sign the letter. If you are not a veteran but know someone who is, please share this letter and encourage them to sign!
Funding Update:?The EC Receives Federal Award to Develop Elective Pay Resources
The U.S. Department of Energy has awarded funding to the EC to develop resources for communities and nonprofit organizations to take advantage of tax credits related to EVs. Historically, tax-exempt organizations were not eligible to receive federal tax credits; but, thanks to the Inflation Reduction Act's elective pay provision, these entities now have access to a number of tax credits that relate to clean energy projects, including the deployment of EVs and charging equipment.

Jill and Kyle are the latest in a long line of former interns who have moved on to become full-time employees of the EC. We are currently hiring?two new interns to join our policy and programs teams; if you are a student or early-career professional interested in accelerating EV deployment in the U.S. through policy advocacy or implementation work, please apply!

Michigan Electric School Bus Teach-In
On November 21, the EC, Highland Electric Fleets, Clean Fuels Michigan, Dean Transportation, Lansing School District, World Resources Institute (WRI), and Hoesktra Transportation hosted an engaging and informative electric school bus teach-in at Lansing Technical High School in Lansing, MI. This hands-on event brought together school districts, transportation professionals, and fleet operators to explore the exciting future of electric school buses.?Watch the recording.
Strategies to Promote EVSE Resilience in Cold Weather
Associates Carolyn Bidó and Emily Pape co-wrote this blog post detailing measures EV supply equipment (EVSE) site operators can take to ensure that their equipment remains reliable in cold weather. Read their recommendations.
In Our Communities
On October 24, Policy Manager Skye Golann moderated a panel discussion on the future of EV adoption at the Making Energy Work Conference in Raleigh, NC. Panelists showcased new electrification options for freight and charging options in multifamily housing, and Skye highlighted the resilience benefits that EVs provided in the aftermath of the recent hurricanes in the region.?
