DECEMBER NEWSLETTER - DOUGIE MAC SPECIAL EDITION

Welcome to our December newsletter, which is a special edition as it is all about Dougie Mac!

Last week, we headed down to the Dougie Mac hospice and had a chat with the brilliant Lorna, who throughout this article, you will learn all about, as well as Dougie Mac!

Lorna is a senior business and community fundraiser, she works in a team of 4, and her role is to work with companies to extract the best out of their partnership and be able to work towards great things with Dougie Mac!

Lorna loves the feeling of knowing that she is helping to make people's lives better by working there and promoting the amazing charity in every way, she explained how the highlight of her career was getting the job, as she wanted her role so much, that nothing can top the feeling of her knowing she can work in a such a unique, helpful industry. Having worked there for 2 years, she stated how much the charity has grown.

The aims for Dougie Mac are simple! The more they raise, the more they can help people, so the goal is to just keep raising money!

The money they raise helps pay the wages of their staff, for example, nurses and doctors, and keep places like their children's hospice open 7 days a week. But money isn't everything in this world, Dougie Mac also has some amazing volunteers, like those who buddy to give people who may not have regular company, to help provide that, so the more awareness they gain, the more volunteers they can get, which really can change people lives!

And much, much more!

To finish off our special edition newsletter, Dougie Mac was voted number one best organisation of the year, and it is for a very valid reason, they care about the community and work relentlessly to ensure everyone gets the best care they can! We are planning some very exciting things for next year to help raise money to help support them in their case for the best possible care for everyone!
