Winter Drinks Recap

We had a fantastic time reconnecting with old friends and meeting new ones at our Winter Drinks event last week at the Army and Navy Club. We are very grateful to Five Talents supporter Major General Tim Cross (ret) who introduced the evening and special thanks to programme team member May, who shared inspiring stories from her recent trip to Uganda. Co-CEOs Kris and Rachel, reflected on their recent visits to Tanzania and the Democratic Republic of Congo, as well as outlining exciting growth next year.

New Programme Launch - Malawi

Exciting news! Five Talents is partnering with the Anglican Diocese of Upper Shire in Malawi to empower rural communities through savings groups. Climate change has played a disastrous role in the region and smallholder farmers are struggling to make a living due to rainwater shortages. There are several active women's groups within the Church and a Programme Officer with experience of savings groups programmes before, so we are really looking forward to getting started in early 2025; the first new country Five Talents has begun work in for some years.

Welcoming a New Ambassador

We were delighted to welcome a new Ambassador in November, Bishop Sophie Jelley.

Rachel said "We are so grateful to Bishop Sophie for becoming an Ambassador, and for giving such a strong endorsement to the work of Five Talents and our partners.? I know that Sophie’s personal connection to the region where our programmes focus, her experience of working within the Anglican Communion and her passion for gender justice will create a really fruitful and exciting collaboration.? I look forward to working together in serving those communities in central and eastern Africa which often carry the heavy burdens of conflict, food shortages and climate change impact.’

Kigali Marathon 2025

If you’re interested in a charity run with a difference, sign up here to be the first in the know when we launch Rwanda 2025. With options for 5k, 10k, half and full marathons, participants will also get to visit the programmes they are directly impacting with fundraising.
