Better Incubation EU Policy Workshop and Project Final at EVPA Impact Week

The EVPA Impact Week hosted in Brussels last week, gave space for the key actors, policy actors from the European Commission and the OECD, and the project partners to share the final results of the Better Incubation project.

Following the closed-door EU Policy Workshop meeting, Ms Brigitte Fellahi-Brognaux, Head of Unit at DG Employment shared how Better Incubation contributed to promoting and supporting social and inclusive entrepreneurship in Europe. Completed by the project partners' insights shared by EVPA, Impact Hub, and EBN we highlighted how each of the partner network members' benefitted from this nearly three year long journey towards a cultural paradigm shift.?

EU|BIC CorkBIC's Board is delighted to announce the appointment of Larry O’Donoghue as CEO. Larry will assume this exciting role on the 1st of January in 2023, succeeding Michael O’Connor who has led CorkBIC for over 25 years.

Welcome to the EU|BIC community: ESA BIC Denmark?

ESA BIC Denmark has been granted the EUIBIC certificate. The space tech incubator is led by The Technical University of Denmark (DTU) in collaboration with the Danish Ministry for Higher Education and Science, University of Aalborg, University of Aarhus, the Danish Industry Foundation and other partners from academia, science parks, industry and Danish government agencies.

The main objective of the Danish ESA BIC is to create and strengthen communities of successful space-related startups in Denmark by supporting 40 startups during 2020-24. The activities will contribute significantly to growing clusters of space-based companies in Denmark.

The second Better Incubation Webinar is focusing on funding instruments & competence centres for social innovation. This webinar provides an overview of the most relevant EU funding programmes.

Social innovation is a rapidly-developing aspect of ESF+ funding. The competence centre initiative will be critical to ensuring all communities benefit from all available opportunities. The webinar will clarify their roles and the way BSOs can interact with the competence centres.

EIT seeks to skill one million deep tech talents – Join the pledge!

The European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT) has announced the launch of the Deep Tech Talent Initiative – inviting partners to join its efforts to skill one million people within deep tech fields over the coming years.

The Deep Tech Talent Initiative is a pioneering programme that will skill one million people within European deep tech fields over the next three years. Deep Tech innovations – cutting-edge technology solutions combining fields of science and engineering in the physical, biological and digital spheres – are indispensable in creating solutions to the most pressing global challenges. However, Europe lacks the talent and skilled labour force necessary to properly leverage the new technologies to enable its green and digital transition.
