December Culturati Highlights
What better time to hear stories of ten leaders who put country and citizens before self? We’re so looking forward to Admiral Stavridis’ keynote on leadership and culture at the opening of the 2020 Culturati Summit on January 26 — just 51 days from now.
Admiral Stavridis, former Supreme Commander of NATO, recently released his book, Sailing True North, bringing forward the lessons of leadership and character told through the lives of ten of history’s most admired naval commanders. These lessons can help us navigate our own voyage of leadership and character — “not least that there is an art to knowing when to listen to your shipmates and when to turn a blind eye; that serving your reputation is a poor substitute for serving your character; and that taking time to read and reflect is not a luxury, it’s a necessity.”
Admiral Stavridis will also join us for our CEO dinners on Sunday night.
Culturati Summit 2020 is only 52 days away. In addition to the Admiral, we’ve announced Stuart Crabb, Arlan Hamilton, Amy Nelson (see Q & A with Amy in this month’s issue), Dr. Darren White, Eileen McNeely and Kathy Farmer. Additionally, we’ve confirmed breakouts with Jodi-Ann Burey, Adrianna Cantu, Maggie Miller, Hannah Nokes and Lynette Barksdale. We’ll populate the website’s speaker page over the next two weeks with all 2020 speakers.
Riveter CEO & founder, Amy Nelson, and family
Riveter founder & CEO Amy Nelson and I were traveling in the same Obama circles during the campaigns but aren’t sure if we ever met. My loss. In just this brief exchange I realized how much I need to spend time with working moms — probably also with working dads. See Q&A with Amy Nelson here.
Kenny Tomlin is a serial entrepreneur, active angel investor, and advisor to more than 20 startup companies across a wide range of industries. Though we’ve known of each other for years and have many friends in common, we’ve finally had a chance to connect over lunch last month and he agreed to be profiled in Culturati Magazine — here.
At this year’s Culturati, we’re launching with two workshops. Culturati member extraordinaire, Rajkumari Neogy is offering a four-hour workshop and Culturati sponsor NACD and members Erin Essenmacher & Bill Bock will offer a session for those interested in joining public boards of directors. If you haven’t yet registered, you should. We’re down to the final available registration slots. We are hard capped at 250 attendees. Go here.
Fondly,
Eugene
