Happy New Year! Most people may not share their family photos, but for me, it's all about family. The reason we work, the reason we get up every day, the reason we are the best we can be. And for my family and friends, I am thankful. #thankfulgratefulblessed #family

Modern Workspace

The new year includes a new job. I have transitioned from a retired technology teacher to a consumer service position with a high-tech pharmacy-based management company. And I love it! Excited to get on the phones after my training period, and looking forward to learning an entirely different career. I could have never imagined daily free catered international lunches, massage chairs, a high-end coffee bar, updated desk/office furniture, 401k, free courses, flexibility, and diversity! The best part is that I can walk to work. Blessed and thankful! #transitioningteachers #workculture #transitionedteacher #healthcare

Our Family Biz

This fall, my husband and I opened a home-based retail Shoppe out of our Farmhouse Shed selling country craft creations, and I am pleased to report that the mission of repurposing for a purpose was successful. All proceeds went to non-profit organizations we care about, including animal and children welfare. It was a labor of love and something I'm proud to share. My original reason for joining LinkedIn one year ago was to connect with others, seek employment, and share my upcoming book, Tales From The Trails. 2023 is the goal to complete my editing and publishing. I'll be dropping some snippets in future newsletters. Please stay tuned and join me on my FB Group page with the same name. #talesfromthetrails. #writingcommunity #writer #writerslife #aspiringauthor #wanderlust

A New England native, Barbara is a teacher by day and a writer by night.?Her inspiration comes from the kindred spirits of adventurous souls she meets along the way throughout her intrepid travels. She has led hundreds of people into the mountains during her adult life. After her days working in Yellowstone and guiding trips to our beloved National Parks, she began writing her debut short story collection, Mountain Fantasies.?

Passionate about outdoor recreation, Barbara has earned numerous awards and commendations for her leadership in the field. She hosted an environmental cable show, worked as a ranger, and served on the boards of several non-profit organizations. A portion of the proceeds from the book sales will go towards conservation efforts to improve our treasured public lands.??

You can catch Barbara writing by candlelight in her 1800s farmhouse on her antique oak desk. Barbara loves Native American jewelry, gardening, photography, country music, campin', and beachin'. In addition, Barbara (M.Ed.) holds several degrees and is a graduate of Outward Bound and the American Wilderness Leadership School. She and her husband are proud parents of two adventuresome young adults and are owners of two crazy rescue mutts.
