December 03-2022: Here Are 10 things You Need to Know in The Digital Space Right Now

Hello, Happy December!

Welcome to my weekly newsletter, where I curate and aggregate tech news and digital trends that happen weekly to keep you updated.

For the last few weeks, a lot has been happening within the digital space since I last published my Newsletter in November that is worth mentioning. Elon Musk, is still making scenes on Twitter, WhatsApp has some new Features and LinkedIn has some updates too.

Here are some updates that happed this week:


  1. So long awaited. LinkedIn rolled out Native Post Scheduling in-app where you can schedule your post up to 90 days in advance.


2. As for LinkedIn pages, LinkedIn just released 3 new features for pages.

  • With the LinkedIn Newsletters, you can publish recurring articles and instantly build a subscriber community via a one-time notification to your Page follower
  • On product pages, Users can now discover products via in-platform search on LinkedIn and use product highlights to showcase specific product content on your Page
  • A New LinkedIn Pages Competitor Analytics dashboard where you can track your competitor activities


3. WhatsApp has rolled out new feature that allows users to search messages by date but only rolled out for iOS beta


4. Also, WhatsApp?has started rolling out “Message Yourself,” the feature lets users send notes, reminders and shopping lists to themselves on WhatsApp. Have you noticed it?


5. On Wednesday, Spotify launched #spotifywrapped2022 revealing the latest of its annual digital experiences that dig through the data of your musical tastes for the year including one's music personality.

Also, YouTube rolled out YouTube Recap 2022 revealing songs you played on repeat, trends you set, unique listening stats, your top top artists and tracks.

Spotify, were the pioneers of the rolling out users listening habits and YouTube hoped on it in 2021. The power of data at play and great marketing campaign!


6. BeReal won ‘app of the year’ in Apple’s annual App Store Awards in 2022. BeReal is the latest social media app where every day at a different time, users are notified simultaneously to capture and share a Photo in 2 Minutes. It has no filters, no effects. It's just about being Real!


7. TikTok has become the most popular social media platform for influencer marketing, with 45% of paid collaborations taking place on the app Instagram placed second with 39% of paid collaborations. However Instagram is still the most preferred social media platform by influencers


8. Twitter News deserves it's own sections of updates. It's like every tweet Elon Musk tweets seems to be a feature update. He is driving a lot of engagements on Twitter currently. In fact, according to a post by BBC News, Elon Musk has been tweeting 84% more times since buying Twitter On average Elon Musk is now tweeting once every 15 minutes during normal waking hours.

  • Twitter?shared on the signals it's using to recommends content on the platform. The content you see on the app is based on; Your interests, Topics you follow, Tweets you engage with, Tweets people in your network like

  • Elon Musk says Twitter will start showing view count for all tweets, just as view count is shown for all videos. He says many Twitter users read tweets but almost never Tweet
  • Twitter is now serving almost 90 billion tweet impressions per day according to Elon
  • On Wednesday, Elon Musk claimed Apple has stopped mostly advertising on Twitter and they have also threatened to withhold Twitter from its App Store, but won’t tell them why

Later, he shared a video Tweet saying CEO Tim Cook showed him around Apple Campus and followed up with a Tweet saying Tim Cook told him Apple ‘never considered’ removing Twitter from App Store



9. Elon Musk set to become number-one influencer on Twitter by 17 January 2023. He is the 2nd most followed person on Twitter after President Barrack Obama.


10. Google?Launches Legal Proceedings Against Scammers Seeking to Sell Google Business Profiles. In 2021 alone, Google says they stopped more than 12M attempts from bad actors to create fake Business Profiles and nearly 8M attempts from bad actors to claim Business Profiles.
