I am writing this post regarding my experience at an organization called Filter Experts. Although I learned a lot of positive things during my tenure and made a lot of cherished memories and friends. I was blind sided with the actions taken against me during the end of my tenure.
Let me tell the whole story in a chronological order so that it makes sense. I was hired in 2023 as AM Foreign Purchase and I was handed over the task of streamlining a mess of a work process and ironing out the loop holes. I did that in about 2 months and was encouraged and assured that by the end of my 3 month probation I will be made permanent. Also, I was appreciated by the directors and management of the company. Then I was handed over the local procurement and I was assigned the same assignment to fix the over reliance on local purchase and make necessary arrangements to prioritize correct demand planning and foreign procurement so that the distribution targets and other company goals can be achieved. Which I did in about 3 months. My probation was extended another 2 months with the indication to achieve targets properly and quickly. Which I did. I was made permanent. Then I was handed the inventory management and audit responsibilities which was deeply corrupted and mismanaged with most of the people being appointed on references. The issue was most of them were involved in corrupt practices and theft of inventory. The management assured me that if I take remedial actions against the culprits and straightened out the bumps in the work process it would be very beneficial for the company and myself as various incentives and rewards such as promotion, increments, and umrah facilities would be extended to me. Which I did in the remainder of my total around 1 year tenure at Filter Experts.
But on the flip side, I was never rewarded nor I received any increments or any appropriate renumeration. And in most cases that the audit caught were mostly backed by a director himself. Further, the ones who were close to the management were rewarded, promoted, appreciated, backed and supported to the full extent. Further, they were the ones who kept putting hurdles in my and companies' work to cut off our progress.
At the end of my tenure a narrative was made that I was the source of problem for the company by various colleagues to the management and directors. They constantly complained and finally they succeeded in their effort to frame me in a insubordination case regarding the aspect of the business I was not even a part of. Get this, 5-6 man team was responsible for making the move to a new ERP system which I was not a part of. And when the time crunch pressed on and pressure mounted on them. They said that I was not cooperating in the process. When I had nothing to do with that transition. They couldn't achieve their targets so they tried to make me do it. When I declined, I was handed a over a "service not required" letter. Or in other words, fired. With the obligation to serve a notice period. To that I said, ok. If you think I'm wrong then I'm wrong.
I did not talk ill about the company or the management in front of any one until now. I was the one who gathered the broken pieces of the supply chain which was handed to me and make it a whole functioning entity again. I was a positive role model to the colleagues and staff all around. They all respected me and looked at me for guidance in troubling times and I did too. I encouraged them to pursue higher education and pursue their career in full force. I learned and taught Islamic way of life at this organization.
Few weeks ago I was told by part of the management that the organization needs me back as it is back to its previous corrupt practices. I agreed to help the organization since the colleagues there were genuinely nice people, and are diamonds in the rough. But the management never kept any of the promises including this.
Moral of the story, deceivers can also wear caps and turbans.
