4WARD.VC’s climate syndicate is VERY excited to announce our latest investment in the US-based decarbonization company, Applied Bioplastics.

Alex Blum , Colin Ardern and the team at Applied Bioplastics have pioneered a patent-pending bio-based, recyclable plastic created from mixing 30-40% originary plant fibers with normal plastic polymer resins that’s at cost or cheaper than conventional polypropylene and produces 30-40% less CO2 emissions!

For a cancerous plastics industry that contribute ±5% of global #emissions , that’s a BIG DEAL. And Alex’s story of journeying to Bangladesh to help the survivors of the Rohingya genocide, creating an award-winning documentary, and meeting the Bangladeshi plastics genius and inventor of the technology is truly Hollywood-worthy. And unlike Travis Kalanick and Adam Neumann, this one’s poised to make our a MASSIVELY positive impact on our world.

Hence why I’ve decided to join the company as a strategic advisor as well, doubling down on my/our commitment to the company and leveraging 4WARD.VC ’s enormous network and brand to accelerate the transition to greener, cleaner plastic.
