So over 800 kilometers of atmospheric altitude, most oof the atmospheric heat remains near earth surface in the mass density going down a factor of 1000x over 50 kilometers of altitude near earth surface :
On a linear scale it is easier to see how steep the atmospheric mass density (kG/m3) goes down over altitude :
