A decade of triumphs and challenges : Celebrating 10 inspiring years of The Bardot Group

As we stand on the cusp of a significant milestone for The Bardot Group, I feel an immense sense of pride and gratitude. This year marks our 10th anniversary, a decade filled with growth, triumphs, and meaningful impact.

As I reflect on our journey so far, it's essential to recognize the countless moments that have shaped our organization into what it is today. In this celebratory article, I'd like to share our accomplishments, the lessons I've learned, and the exciting future that lies ahead.

The Genesis: A Dream and a Mission

When I resigned from my position as Senior VP, Global Head of Performance & Reward at Mubadala, I had a hope: to continue working in Compensation & Benefits, but to bring my experience to more organizations than through working for just one company. The day after my resignation, I was setting up my business and buying a trade license.

I have never looked back.

Today, The Bardot Group stands as a testament to that dream, and we continue to deliver exceptional services to our clients.

The Highs and Lows: Embracing Every Experience

Our journey has been filled with both highs and lows, but each experience has contributed to the strength and resilience of The Bardot Group. From catching pneumonia, which left me unable to work for five months, to clients canceling projects at the last minute, I've faced numerous challenges. However, these experiences have only served to make me stronger, more determined, and better equipped to handle adversity.

On the other hand, the highs of my journey have been incredibly rewarding. I've met wonderful people who have become friends, made an impact through strategic work with clients, become a Board member, and expanded our sphere of influence thanks to remote work being much more accepted since Covid.

I've had the honour of speaking at conferences, on podcasts, and YouTube shows to share good practices in Total Rewards. I've also become a faculty member for World at Work, which has allowed me to meet my C&B hero, Duncan Brown , and strike a friendship with him. These moments have been invaluable in shaping our growth and success.

Growing and Evolving: 10 Years of Learning and Pioneering

Over the past decade, I've not only gained technical knowledge but also learned about becoming a better advisor, and about marketing and psychology.

Throughout my career I was always a pioneer : among the first ones to work in C&B in Europe, being an expat 4 times in Italy and UK, moving as a single woman to the UAE 15 years ago, opening an independent C&B consultancy 10 years ago when it was unheard of...

This spirit of innovation has been a driving force behind our success, propelling us forward and allowing us to continually expand our horizons. I want to continue on this path of opening new doors.

Looking Ahead: The Future of The Bardot Group

As we celebrate our 10th anniversary, we look towards the future with optimism and excitement. My vision for the future includes focusing more on advisory work (including retainers), developing new trainings, offering on-demand courses on our own training platform, and coaching ambitious HR/Total Rewards professionals.

We'll continue to be pioneers, using AI for client work and business, developing innovative C&B trainings, maybe developing an online community, and working with more Boards to help companies think strategically about their human capital.

Our expansion plans include working with other consultants (we already do - looking for more !), opening a representative office in the UK, and looking East with anticipation. With these ambitious goals in mind, we are confident that The Bardot Group will continue to thrive and make a lasting impact in the industry.
