A decade of going forward

During my 10-year-long journey at TeleSoftas, I always remember Algis' time-tested mantra: “Nothing is more constant than change.” This is true in both my personal and professional life. To this day, I am still learning to tame the state of constant change and enjoy it all the way. I believe that changes in our lives are the way to new experiences.

A perfect match for limitless possibilities?

It all started with an unexpected meeting with Algis. The job interview took place in the autumn of 2014. We met in Caffeine, located in the old town of Kaunas. Then, the C-level persona in all areas was Algis, the demand for IT services grew like crazy, and EU funding and all other external funding opportunities looked promising. However, no one at TeleSoftas wanted or could do it—I was the only person at the time who understood what public procurement and external financing projects were. My previous work contract was coming to an end. According to Algis, it was a perfect match and a sign that it was time for me to join the TeleSoftas family.

Colleagues as mentors?

At that time, TeleSoftas office was in the Nordic business centre on Savanori? pr. in Kaunas. Looking back, it seems miraculous: small crowded office, extension cords everywhere around, incognito entrance doors from the backyard, a small but durable coffee machine that brought people together, and a kitchen where business was done. I met Vilius Smalinskas for the first time there. To this day, we are connected by stories, memories of events, or former/current colleagues at TeleSoftas. For me, Vilius is an example of how, thanks to consistent work and internal motivation, you can find your place and establish yourself in the organisation. Vilius is the best mentor I could ever hope to have, as he tested the lessons and advice I have been given. Because of this, I think we have mutual trust and similar moral principles.

We were both fresh and trying to catch up on how things were going at TeleSoftas. Since day one the basis of success was the good vibe and relationship between people. We had no idea what our true vision was at the time, but Algis would not let us doubt the importance of having big dreams.

Hard work carves history

It's hard to believe, and at the same time, it's fascinating to understand how the company's history began. TeleSoftas has undergone a transformation journey: from a small and chaotic niche business to an international company trusted by customers around the globe. Thanks to the dedication of people in the company, great changes have taken place: the scale of ongoing projects has increased tenfold, and the technological quality of development is reflected by long-term international projects. During all those years, TeleSoftas has been building its history with the hallmark of its community.

In these 10 years, I got many more obligations: I married and became a mother of two children. Also, the tech industry doesn't seem so mystical to me anymore. I became friends with the terminology and the logic of technological projects. Although I considered myself a strong introvert for a long time—I started to enjoy working in a team!

The formula for 100% success

If I had to name qualities that helped me during all these years in the company, it would be communication, discipline, and motivation.

Communication: the ability to quickly refine and systematize the most important information, put together a whole puzzle from scattered fragments, and help the team transform it into specific tasks.

Discipline: systematic, daily, maybe small but consistent steps towards a goal. I follow the motto: if you don't know (don't have) a way out—it's temporary— just do, think and talk about it. Solutions will surely come if you put in the effort. The worst possible option is to do nothing.

Last but not least is motivation – thanks to it, you can learn a lot of new things and try yourself in various roles in which you might not have imagined yourself before. Learn to fuel it: take time for yourself and focus on the positive, even when life goes through ups and downs and tests us in the most unexpected ways.
