According to the 2022 Adoption and Foster Care Attitudes Survey, 75% of U.S. adults surveyed said that society should be doing more to encourage foster care adoption. We agree! You can do your part by helping to debunk the myths and misperceptions surrounding foster care adoption, including:?
Myth: Foster care adoption is expensive.
Truth: Foster care adoption typically averages $0 to $1,500, and financial support is available
Myth: Children end up in foster care because they are juvenile delinquents.?
Truth: Children are placed in foster care, through no fault of their own, because of abuse or neglect.?
Myth: Adoptive parents need to be under 50 years old.?
Truth: There is no ideal age to adopt a child. Almost 25% of adopted children live with a parent who is 55 years or older
