Millennial employees are different...and different isn’t always bad.
In this case, the differences millennials bring are a good thing for your company, but we will get to that.
I can speak to millennial employees first hand because I HIRE THEM MYSELF! Heck, they make up 90% of the workforce I have employed in my career.
And I will be honest, I used to find myself echoing my late grandfather saying, “Kids these days are lazy, they just want immediate gratification, cannot count on them to stay loyal for even a year.”
However, Millennials simply value different things.
Top 4 things Millenials value are:
- Ongoing training and skills to help them grow their career
- Clear goals and regularly scheduled reviews
- Work-Life Balance
- Superior Company Culture
If you look at the above list those are pretty reasonable values as well as pretty damn good pillars of any business.
This generation also brings a tech competency and way of looking at times, systems, and the world that is essential for your company to be on board with.
Millennials are challenging you and your company to step up their game.
Newsflash!
You might want to reconsider hiring millennials because they are the future of your workforce.
