??My latest learning: International Women's Day
Friday was International Women's Day, and there were some strange discussions on social media platforms. Do we need this day? Aren't we already equal? Why isn't there a World Men's Day?
Well, what can I say—there aren't really any stupid questions. Actually, this discussion about whether this day and, incidentally, Equal Pay Day is needed - is a distraction from the actual problem.
We still do NOT have equal rights, and women are suffering as a result!
And this is not a luxury problem but an economic disaster.
And no, we won't solve it if we get flowers for these events once a year. However, such events always increase visibility, which must be used.
Equal Pay Day, for example, shows that women continue to earn 18% less than men on average, and if you convert this into days, women work the first 66 days UNEMPLOYED. When companies are confronted with low quotas for women, they quickly say that women don't want to be at the top and are reluctant to be promoted. As the AllBright Foundation clearly shows, many companies manage to appoint a woman to the board, but that's it. According to the motto "we tried, but they just didn't want to", the otherwise so overambitious heads are satisfied with "always trying". As a company, create a framework in which most country's most valuable unused resources can and ultimately WILL contribute added value to the economy. And yes, childcare, flexible working hours, and fair career opportunities, regardless of gender or diverse background, are important milestones.? BUT this is NOT a "women's problem". We need more men at the top of companies who actively tackle this as a "problem of our economy". A diversity department can support this, but the responsibility MUST lie with top management, including their VISIBLE communication.
Short reminder every International Women’s day I am giving away three 1:1 coaching sessions with me. How you can take part:
Please complete the questionnaire by Sunday, 16.03.2024, and take part. If you are one of the winners, I will contact you. ?? My gift for you!
??Career Inspiration: Overcoming Common Negative Beliefs
In our careers and lives, we often yearn for change, a leap into the unknown that could redefine our careers. Yet, as we approach those dreams, an unseen force holds us back—a silent resistance echoing from deep within. This resistance is rooted in our subconscious, woven intricately with beliefs shaped by the echoes of our upbringing.
The Power of Beliefs: Shaping Our Destiny Beliefs, those powerful convictions, silently dictate the narrative of our thoughts, feelings, and actions. As a career coach, I've observed three prevailing negative beliefs that hinder many on their journey to change:
1.??? "I am not good enough" - A belief often born from past negative experiences or futile comparisons. To break free, recognize your uniqueness. Boost self-confidence by focusing on strengths, surrounding yourself with positive influences, and celebrating your accomplishments.
2.??? "Change is dangerous"—The fear that change threatens personal growth can paralyze us. Understand that change is a natural force for growth and view it as an opportunity for new possibilities. Embrace the discomfort; it's a sign you're on the brink of transformation.
3.??? "I have to be perfect"—The relentless pursuit of perfection leads to stress and dissatisfaction. Acknowledge that perfection is an unattainable standard. Embrace your imperfections, allow room for mistakes, and shift the focus from the result to the journey.
Navigating Change: A Path to Fulfillment Breaking free from these beliefs requires a commitment to self-discovery and growth. Take a moment to reflect on your beliefs, and remember, change is not a solitary journey. Seek an external perspective—a trusted friend, mentor, or coach—to accelerate your progress.
We all know someone trapped in the cycle of unhappiness at work. Sometimes, that person is us. The advice is simple: take it, change it, or leave it. Yet, the reasons for accepting a situation often lie deeper. As you embark on your journey to a more fulfilling career, let the whispers of self-doubt fade and the symphony of your potential rise.
Take the leap. Your future self will thank you.I would be happy to help you to unblock your limiting beliefs.

??Female Leadership: I don't have time" – What does this mean?Does it sometimes annoy you too.....when someone comes around the corner with the sentence "I don't have time"?
This sentence is one of the most frequently mentioned answers regarding finding a reason for NOT doing something!
I DON'T HAVE TIME
...to learn something new!
...to take care of my future!
...to rest!
Really? No!
"I don't have time" is an excuse!
Because if we're honest, behind this excuse is something more like: I don't want to take the time!
Not for you! And not for things and changes either!
Or I'm not good at managing my time!
As a leader, you should be aware that changes or the implementation of something new will only happen if you
?? Take time for a new direction!
?? Take time to try things out!
?? Take time for yourself and for new learning!
As the leader of the future, it is your responsibility to change this!

On the 8th of March was International Women's Day!
A day that always reminds me why I do what I do.
This is a day when I am so incredibly grateful for all the women in my life: for friends, sisters, moms, daughters, colleagues, exchange partners, clients, and companions—including you!
THANK YOU SO MUCH!
A day that also reminds me of those women who are discriminated against, not tolerated, oppressed, exploited, or humiliated in various ways and who have to go through traumatizing experiences. No woman is forgotten today!
And that is just one day out of 366 this year.
One day out of 366 days for female empowerment, where we join hands and support each other. Once again, this year, I am giving away three 1:1 coaching sessions with me for International Women's Day.

??Change starts with you

The alternative: Keep doing what you're doing ....
For now, I wish you a great week, enjoy life, and remember to SHOW UP!
If you say what you want you increase the chance of being heard!??
Have a great day and remember, it is the one who gives up that does not reach success.

Best Regards, Katharina
