Debunk the Myth - AI Isn't Too Complex!

Debunk the Myth - AI Isn't Too Complex!

People and organisations shy away from AI due to perceived complexity, risk aversion or through a lack of experience.

It's not their fault, as there is often a perception that AI is only for high tech companies, requires highly specialised knowledge, will be based on bad data or brings unpalatable risks.

The truth is it’s not about AI being too complex; it's about using trusted tools to make AI accessible for all in your business. Organisations often get stuck in the mindset where the answer for AI lies only through those with deep technical expertise. They invest in specific AI IT projects, and add scarce and expensive resources to address these deep and mysterious IT challenges.

This holds back progress, innovation and agility, leaving organisations at a competitive disadvantage.

It is perceived that:

1) AI is daunting and unattainable

2) Only AI specialists can handle AI

3) The quality and/or quantity of data is not up to scratch

4) Potential risks and failures will lead to much anxiety within the business.

?? Making AI Accessible: Your Pathway to Success ??

If you want to make AI accessible across your business, here is the pathway you need to take:

1) Start by choosing user-friendly tools that are also safe and secure within the hands of your employees. Adding information to a free version of many of the big consumer AI tools, means this data is used to train that AI - it could be that you are passing company or customer information into a untrusted domain as well as potentially breaching your agreed data privacy rules. Tools such as Salesforce Einstein, inherently keep this type of information secure and within the boundaries of your organisation.

2) Provide comprehensive training for your team on both technical topics such as usage and prompt design, as well as topics such as information security in the AI world. Upskilling your team will be critical to maximise the value you can leverage from AI in your business.

3) Implement incrementally by starting small and scale as you and your teams learn. Succeeding with AI can be complex as there are many facets to understand. Follow a phased and incremental approach with appropriate investment and planning.

4) Continually improve your teams knowledge and provide the tools they value most. Gather feedback from your user community as well as measuring adoption and getting soundbites from successful use cases that can be shared to keep other teams motivated and informed.

5) Create an environment for cross-functional team collaboration to bring diverse perspectives and expertise; it will bring together business ideas and technological know-how, crafting new and innovative ways of thinking and operating.

Consider how processes can be changed, accelerated & improved by taking advantage of these AI-fuelled use cases. After seeing first hand the impact AI can have on an organisation and how it can embrace to its own benefit, the case for doing so is clear.
