Debt Chicken

As a Conservative; the solution to the debt ceiling is simple: raise the ceiling to what was already agreed and work on making cuts for the next fiscal year. Politicians who make too much money are willing to have America go into default to make Joe Biden look bad.

Donald Trump had four years to replace The Affordable Care Act with something. Anything. Nothing was ever legislated. This is theater. Someone is trying to get elected or says "Our party will make things different".

It is strange that Republicans run up debt and no one says anything. When A democrat goes over budget, all Hell breaks loose. Either it is unacceptable for any administration to incur debt or it doesn't matter.

The minority party says "Vote us into the majority and we'll make changes." If voters take the bait; nothing changes. Most campaign promises cannot be implemented the way you envision.

None of which has to do with wrecking the economy to possibly gain seats in the 2024 election cycle. What about American citizens who cannot vote for anyone until next January? No one really cares about improvements.

I would rather have money spent on healthcare and education than tax cuts for the rich. That only benefits the ones too rich to bother using LinkedIn. As much as billionaires are worshiped on this site; the ones who made their money stepping on others and not paying taxes might have ghost writers.

Did you really think Jack Welch checked his LinkedIn account? Richard Branson might as a lark. A revival of Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous would lack the tacky glamour and have angry old men trying to buy legislators to privatize everything.

Their greed should not hinder Public Parks and Public Libraries. Congress needs to decide what they can cut. It is not a zero sum game. They forgive PPP loans and cry havoc when college loans might be forgiven. If I had gone to college I might still be paying for dropping out.

Debt is a prison. Politicians need to stand for their beliefs instead of keeping up appearances to get re-elected. That is why someone like Liz Cheney who stood for what she believed and was not re-elected has more respect than Kevin McCarthy who sheepishly follows the crowd instead of taking a stand.

He has a LinkedIn account. I have been told to follow it. Why? For comedic purposes? That funny emoji can be used for evil. I never use it. Let's see if who works Kevin McCarthy's page actually reads this. Don't hold your breath waiting for a response. Applying online is more effective.
