In a galaxy far far away, Blaring trumpets, and then space. The movies dazzled multiple generations. Released in 1977 Star Wars was the epic space adventure that we needed. The next film would come in 1980 and the last to be released in 1984. Lucas created a phenomenon that would forever be marked in people's minds. Oddly name episodes 4 5 and 6 this meant there was room for expansion.
Flash forward to 2000. An announcement that every fan had been waiting for. There would be prequel Episodes 1, 2 and 3. Sadly the expectations did not meet what was produced. It was campy and we had Jar Jar Binks. There were inconsistencies between the Original 3 and the prequels. Star Wars fans were not happy and very upset. Lucas who was celebrated was now enemy number 1. That is until now.
A new announcement Disney buys Lucas films. Disney is a marketing juggernaut and Star Wars is a multi-billion dollar IP. Enter Kathleen Kennedy. Disney announces a new series of movies. JJ Abrams at the helm. He saved the Star Trek films and gave them a huge boost. The Force Awakens. While yes it is Episode 4 re-wrapped the entire movie is solid. This is what Star Wars needed after episodes 1,2,3. The next 2 films would be a mess. Bad plots, rushed dialog, and scenes. Loss of potential better storylines and story arches. In fact they have been regulated to the expanded universe and not set in cannon.
A new movie. Rogue One which happens to strike it big. The best movie of the series by far. Rogue One competes with the originals on the story, plot, character development etc... . Fans now have renewed faith.

What also has spurred on fans' faith is the Disney+ series The Mandalorian. Outside of Kathleen Kennedy's control The Mandalorian sets the new bar.
Kennedy has spurned the destruction of one of the largest IP's in the world. Disney spent 200m dollars on its latest series The Acolyte. Everyone hates it. It is made of the same stuff that has caused Disney to lose over 1b dollars on their other movies.
Her ideology to make Star Wars and The Force into something that it isn't has led to the disaster that is The Acolyte. Worse Kennedy has as with all failures blamed fans for not liking it. Well, fans would like it if it was good. Fans loved Mando Seasons 1-2. Season 3 went sideways and made 0 sense.
I think The Acolyte is the end of Star Wars. It is the nail in the coffin and there is very little unless there is a major change that can be done to save it.
