"Death of NYC" and a way to help

Over the past few months, there has been a lot of discussion surrounding the "Death of NYC" and "how this time is different" and my hope is that you believe, as I do, that New York will rebound.  

As a Board Member of New York Cares, I have Chaired Cares Day, the largest day of volunteerism for Title I Public Schools in NYC, for the past two years.  

At a time when the city is planning massive cuts to education, New York Cares is evolving Cares Day to become a yearlong initiative we are calling, Stand With Students. This will serve 50,000+ elementary and middle school students in the communities most impacted and will provide support and programs, such as: 

• School supplies
• Technical assistance for Remote Learning
• Social Emotional Learning Programs
• Reading and Math Support
• Fitness and Arts Enrichment Programs

The only way we will be able to navigate this sentiment about New York City is by standing together and supporting the next generation - especially those most vulnerable during this moment in time.
