Dear Seniors... I'm So Sorry

Dear Seniors,
I know the second half of your school year didn’t go as planned and I am so sorry you had to experience that. But, I don’t not need you feeling sorry for yourself. Yes, you’ve missed out on some really dope memories; prom dress shopping with your mom or fellas coming up with the perfect prom-posals. Then, to top it all off no spring sports! No track and field, baseball, softball, or soccer. No defending last year’s state championships with your teammates and coaches had to be “tuff” (in KJ voice).
College seniors your last semester was not supposed to end like this. You too, were looking forward to creating lasting memories. No Spring 20’ Greek coming out shows on the yard or the infamous late night meals at Waffle House after the club. Nahh, your last memories with your college friends will be remembered by Zoom classroom calls and FaceTime chats to complain about professors that were giving out more work virtually than they did when y’all met physically. No spring formal or even a college sponsored senior celebration to cap off four long grueling yet rewarding years.
But, guess what seniors and I don’t care if you’re graduating from high school or college all I know is this, YOU DID IT?? No hater, no critic, and not even a virus was able to stop you from accomplishing something great in your life. You should be proud. As long as you have breath in your lungs and a vision in your heart you can defeat any setback, overcome any obstacle, and you can find hope in any pandemic. Always remember to celebrate yourself even if the building or the world is closed. As I close, please promise me a few more things, always keep your heart open and pointed towards love, always remember that your life has purpose. It was designed on purpose, for a purpose, and with a purpose. Lastly, ET once told me, “You don’t always have to swing for the fences; home runs kill momentum”. Exit this quarantine not just an ordinary graduate; exit as an extraordinary better human being. In this new norm ordinary just isn’t good enough! Be like me and be EXTRA??

4 年This is awesome; very inspiring. It touched me and I'm not graduating. The Class of 2020 can overcome this pandemic, they could overcome any obstacles. I must share. Thanks, Bro. Kyle.
