Dear Recruiter...

Dear Recruiter...

?

Research shows that over a quarter of employees are willing to quit a new job in the first 90 days. This is mind-blowing, given the time and money invested to get someone to that point.

TA teams focus all their energy on creating an amazing hiring experience, and onboarding is too often an afterthought. It's easy for this part of the process to feel disorganised and disconnected—especially with global teams and remote working in the mix. Not the warm welcome your new employee was expecting.

If this is something your team is grappling with, I'm hosting a webinar with Deel 's Matt Monette in a few weeks—"Your essential guide to onboarding global teams".

?? Data Point: Applications Per Hire

Data and insights direct from the Pinpoint team

In part 2 of our Recruitment Trends Report for Spring 2024 the team analysed Average Time to Hire. Here's what we know:

  • Time to hire fell 18% over the last 2 years, according to data from over 160,000 hires.
  • This means the average time to hire was 31 days in 2023. This data was aggregated across a wide range of company sizes and industries—you can break it down at industry level on RecruitmentTrends.
  • As you’d expect, time to hire roughly correlates with seniority level, but there’s a lot of overlap at the upper and lower ends of the range for each level.

Improve your time to hire stats by identifying the bottlenecks and tackling them in order of impact. Common challenges include application review, checking availability for interviews and sending or signing offers—we've got some practical advice for these. Read the Average Time to Hire report here

??? Talent Talks: Markellos Diorinos, Co-founder & CEO of Bryq

Quick fire questions to get to know leading recruiters

This episode features the brilliant Markellos Diorinos of Bryq , the talent intelligence platform. I was super excited to record this episode—and as a self-confessed data nerd the conversation didn't disappoint.

We covered everything from Markellos' predictions about the role AI will play in the TA space to the way candidate experience should be a two-way street.

?? The power of employee referrals

From the Pinpoint blog

I wanted to reshare this because referrals remain an underutilised channel for so many recruiters.

Last year we analysed millions of applications and found that referred candidates are 7x more likely to be hired than ones applying via job boards. Referral programs are worth intentional investment of your time and attention. If this is something you're keen to leverage, there's some great advice in this article, including benchmarks on referral bonuses.

We're super excited to be there this year and hope to see many of you on the day. Tickets are still available here.

If you're planning to attend let us know if you want a chat at our stand—we're happy to book you some time with the team in advance. Just send me an email?at [email protected] and we'll get it organised.
