Dear Models...

Working remotely has been a challenge for all of us this year and we've invested a lot of time ensuring strong communication is in place between the team and our models with weekly calls, Zoom, virtual workshops and training sessions and email roundups.

Here's our final update of 2020 to our beautiful #Jadorefamily.

Hey #jadorefamily,

Before we close for Christmas and hit the prosecco, chocs and take some very much needed time to switch off, we wanted to share some final updates of 2020 with you. Wow. What a year! Seriously, where to even start...Thanks to the crazy energy levels and commitment of our team, we’ve seen our business grow on all fronts this year with profit, client base, expanding boards and introducing four new members of staff to the team. We’d usually all be recovering from the J’adore Party at this time of year, so we thought we’d take the time to let you know some final updates as we round off the year.

Mustard Tree: after your incredibly generous donations, we doubled what you’d given and will be donating an amazing total of ￡2535 for the Mustard Tree to support those homeless in Manchester during such a difficult time of year. They are overwhelmed with our support and this money will help so many people - from the bottom of our hearts, thank you for your kindness! It’s incredible. 

Team updates: We can't believe we're saying this during a global pandemic but our team is expanding again! Our Reach division has grown incredibly this year, with a global client base booking across boards for premium campaigns and collaborations so we have a new booker, Samia, joining Reach in February. We launched our Classics board this year, headed up by Liv which brings an exciting new dimension to J’adore. Having launched Image and Reach IG, we now also have Social Media Exec, James, joining us in January to continue growing and stragezing across all platforms. Finally we have the amazing Holly managing our accounts department so we can continue with our watertight processes.

J’adore Family: #JadoreTalks has been mega so far this year (ok, with one or two technical glitches!) and we’re kicking off Jan with our New Year, New You Wellbeing Festival - watch this space for specialised drop in sessions on wellbeing, inclusion and diversity within the industry, skincare, hair care with talks, demos and Q&A sessions. So many of you have been attending these talks so far and giving us such great feedback on what you’ve enjoyed. We’ve hosted all Model Inductions via Zoom and offered social training workshops at varying levels of expertise. More of these to come next year! 

We held our first Book Club discussing June Sarpong’s The Power of Privilege and our next Book Club will be in line with LGBTQ+ History Month.

We’re using [email protected] and our J’adore Model Voice which will tackle different themes of the industry at check in points across the year to open even more channels of communication with you all. Wherever you’re not sure who to talk to, you have a safe space to email into and book time in with a member of staff. It’s been an incredibly tough year and we’re here to listen and support wherever we can. 

J’adore Diversity: Our internal Diversity and Inclusion committee meet regularly with our key agenda being to tackle racism and inequality within the industry, to educate ourselves further and to analyse our internal system and procedures to see where and how we can continue to improve and hold ourselves accountable. This isn’t a short term project for us and new staff members will join the committee to keep our experience base wide and perspectives fresh and relevant. 

2021 model handbook: this is being updated and we’ll send this out to you all in January with updated payment dates, wellbeing and safety guidelines and more support in all areas of the industry. 

Shut down and reopening dates: the office closes Dec 23rd and reopen Jan 4th, this includes accounts so we’ll not be able to take any advance requests after Fri 18th Dec.  

Finally - YOU! You have worked so hard this year: adapting to this new normal so quickly, staying positive and professional at all times. You’ve supported each other, listened to each others’ journeys, tips and tricks. Not to mention you’ve turned your homes and bedrooms into studios, learning new skills and have become more creative than ever before. 

Thank you for trusting in us through this and communicating so well - we can’t wait to be able to see you all again in real life!
