Keeping your employees for team building activities won't make them better or an office tour . These are not kids who are learning , your good deeds would make them feel better , your level of understanding , your goodness at your work will make them feel better . Yes , you can definetly organise celebrations not at the cost of their time with "FAMILY". If you give an employee a decent amount with their family your team will be more productive and better .
