Dear Fran?ois,
40 years old. This September 25, 2024, you would have been 40 years old. Life (or rather death) decided otherwise. You are no longer here, by our side. But you remain there, present in all these memories that accompany us throughout our days. A multitude of joyful, comical, moving or surreal memories. Your difference, your pain, your anxieties, you faced all this with sarcasm, black humor, willpower, positive spirit, empathy, curiosity and self-deprecation. What beautiful life lessons you gave us. How often we think that, if you could speak to us, you would repeat them over and over again. How lucky we were to know you and live by your side until your last day. But from where you are, give us one last lesson : teach us to live without you. Because we miss you so much!
They were painting the banners for Freedom Drive in the garage of the office building on Monday and one of them made me laugh and think how much Francois would have enjoyed it: 'able-ism bites, but so do I'. Thinking of you both and Francois so much this week. Hope to see you soon.

5 个月What a lovely piece Roland. I think of Fran?ois so often. He would have had such a great joke about turning 40, I can practically hear it. See you very soon to raise a glass in his name!
