Dear Elon,

I have long admired your remarkable business achievements, pushing technologies that can solve the perils that face us as a?species. However, your record as a Global Citizen, and more so, as an American Citizen deeply concerns me.

Your support for figures like Trump, who embodies an existential threat to our democracy, if not every nation’s freedom, breaks my heart.

A president who wants power for power's sake. Responding to the needs of Americans, not with solutions and compassion, but as an excuse to be cruel. He lies to his supporters to manipulate them for his benefit. Using their frustrations of day-to-day struggles, stoking their fear and/or hate of boogiemen, or exploiting their blind faith that he is God's plan. Creating the ideology of Trumpism that is blind to facts or reason.?

And you are almost single-handedly trying to elevate such a person to the highest office, not just in our nation, but the world.

His first term, like every failed civilization, was only concerned with tearing down the safeguards of Democracy to fortify a Plutocracy, where the rich make the laws and everyone else is beholden to them.?

Name anything Trump did that benefited “EVERY” American. Did he end the Opioid/Drug Crisis? Did he address Climate Change? Did he fix the nation's Infrastructure? Did he reduce the Cost Of Living? Did he fix Immigration? Did he fix Healthcare? Global Security? The Education System? End Gun Violence, Hate Crimes, Police Abuses, Discrimination or Poverty.

No! He made them all worse.

He wanted?to shoot Americans who were peacefully protesting his policies. He kidnapped thousands of children to punish their parents. He tried to take away Affordable Health Insurance away from millions of Americans. And tried to allow suspected terrorists or the severely mentally ill to legally buy guns. He wanted to buy Greenland.? He wanted to nuke hurricanes… and he suggested injecting Americans with bleach. This man doesn’t have the basic intellect to run a government or the humanity & moral character to lead a nation.?He ruled by whims that he tweeted, without thought or concerns about the consequences.

He and his acolytes used the problems of the nation and of hard-working families to justify their need to be in power by sowing chaos, lining their pockets, and attacking their critics.

We all should be supporting Political Leaders, regardless of Party, who are committed to building a Better Union. One of the principles is that solutions don’t reflect ideology, but simply are the best solutions to the problem. A society where everyone lives, with no fear of harm or discrimination. Where we can become our best selves. Where money is not the only policy consideration. Where we don't write off others to retain wealth or forfeit our principles to obtain it.? Where we ALL work for the betterment of each other, our nation, and the world.

We live in the richest nation on Earth. If we cannot ensure everyone an equal opportunity to the blessings of America; to have meaningful work, access to education, freedom from corporate greed & oppressive government, & the dignity that comes from being able to build a successful life. Then what hope does the human race have?? If the "Haves" constantly work to exclude the "Have Not's." If Greed, Ignorance, and Hate is allowed to fester, Where no problems will be solved. No solutions will be implemented & our history will be our future where we are still dealing with poverty, pollution, crime, and petty hate.

Anything good you have done in your life & anything you will do in the future will be wiped away if you deliver up the American people to be sacrificed on the altar of authoritarianism which will over time take away rights, freedoms, & protections we once held.

I urge you to reconsider the impact of your choices and to use your influence for a cause that embodies hope, unity, and progress for all Americans. Together, we can forge a path that honors the principles of democracy and equality.
