Dear 2022, glad I had something in my cup!

Dear 2022,

As we bid each other farewell, I want to tell you that you were a tough one! You had a full bag for me, some with painful bits and others with soul-satisfying sensories. Here are some of the major events that will shape the rest of my years!

Jan 2022: Lost my grandpa, my biggest cheerleader

Don't even start arguing about having some hidden you-will-understand-with-time gyan on this huge loss! I miss him, and no one can take his place. Hearing stories from everyday people like the milkman and newspaper man about how he touched their lives taught me the importance of small conversations. It prompted me to initiate more such conversations in my daily life. Today, I am proud to say that I have shared beautiful smiles and stories with the kind lady who cleans our building and have interesting anecdotes from my conversations with shopkeepers in my street.

Feb 2022: I am an Author! Where's my book?

Everyone needs what I am selling

Well, ignore what Calvin is selling and just focus on the message! Yeah, that's what my thoughts are on creativity. Everyone needs to learn about creativity, and they need a reminder about it. I released my first illustrated book 'I Am', and it serves the purpose of being this simple reminder for everyone to trust their creative instincts and find a method to this madness. Of course, most adults are yet to realize that while this is a cute illustrated book, it's really meant for them. Most parents are yet to figure out that the book helps break a critical stereotype around creativity, which could really help in their parenting. I am grateful for the wonderful reviews (100+ now) by my readers and also for all the amazing reviews on this book in media by the industry.

May 2022: A creative space for all last-minute panics

An office space that does justice to the amazing folks at toss the coin was a gift to me :) In this space, we are now making memories, bringing joy, and inspiring each other to go beyond. If anyone thinks space does not define the way you work, think again! Space can completely alter the way you collaborate, and the whole magic is in collaboration. If you browse through the LinkedIn page of toss the coin and the Instagram page, you will find heart-warming stories of us existing in our space and being creative.

June 2022: 10 years of 100% Referenceable Customers

Did Jayan and I have a plan for toss the coin? No. Did we understand what we were building? No. Then, what did we know about what we were doing? We knew that we were going to give every project our 100%, and will make toss the coin a safe and happy place for all those who trusted us enough to work here. The outcome: 10 years of 100% referenceable customers and a dream team who are symbols of integrity, dedication, and creativity. When we celebrated 10 years of toss the coin, we celebrated 10 years of having faith in what we were doing. We celebrated 10 years of memories! We celebrated 10 years of not giving in to the temptations of the world and sticking to our core value of doing something that makes us happy. We celebrated the onset of the next decade, with a vow to continue with the same intentions.

All year: Transforming basics to wonders!

Taking plain boxes and transforming them into something that makes sense is my super power! Every client and every project has me giving my 100%. With my team, we set out to become creative problem solvers for them. We do not promise the world, we do not even promise assured results. We promise deep-rooted analysis, we promise creativity, and we promise to not give up. In my opinion, this is what a CMOs office needs to be. I find most CMO teams in B2B hesitant to take risks in simple aspects like copywriting and campaigns. What's the worst? It won't convert. But then you can replace it. So is it the worst? The year has been about taking such risks, building user journeys, crafting compelling content, and weaving together pieces that impact the growth of our clients.

Half cup full? Half cup empty? Nah!

Finally, all I can tell you, my sweetest 2022 is, thank you for being who you were.

I am grateful not for half cup full, not for half cup empty - just for having something in the cup!
