Dealing with Difficult People in Really Stressful Situations

Dealing with Difficult People in Really Stressful Situations

There are so many ways our lives can become stressed simply because the people we live with, work with or are related to can drive us up the proverbial wall. For example:

  • Teenagers borrowing the family car, never putting petrol in and making you late for work cos you have to stop at a petrol station on Monday morning when you were already running late
  • A female boss who thinks you are not only her PA but the on-call baby-sitter to her 2 year old daughter
  • Franchisees who refuse to follow the franchise manual
  • An employee who thinks starting times and leading times are simply ‘guidelines’ and is always late in and first out the door at 5 p.m.
  • A sibling who shirks all duties when an aging parent needs ferrying to and from hospital
  • A partner who thinks all household duties are not his/her responsibility but complains when the cupboards are bare or the washing isn’t done

If your blood pressure has shot up just reading even one of those examples, then you will absolutely benefit from joining my webinar

‘Dealing with Difficult People in Really Stressful Situations’.

Although the scenarios above seem wildly different, they are actually all the same. They are situations where one person’s behaviour is unacceptable and that behaviour is causing you grief. The problem is, for most of us, tackling such situations is terrifying. We fear the reactions:

  • What if the person reacts badly and the situation becomes worse?
  • What if I say all the wrong things and end up looking like a fool?
  • What if the person simply doesn’t care about the effects on me?
  • What if the person is my boss and he/she hinders my advancement?

The bigger problem is that if we don’t speak up or fail to find a way to change a situation that is giving us sleepless nights, then WE suffer. We beat ourselves up: our blood pressure goes off the Richter scale: we get hives! Speaking up isn’t easy, but there are a few simple strategies that will make taking the first step a whole lot less terrifying.

I am running this session as a 2 part webinar because you will not learn how to say what you need to say in one hour.

The first webinar covers understanding YOU and why some people have such an effect on you. There will be homework between the sessions where you plan and prepare to have an actual conversation. The second webinar gives you the tools to know what to say, when to say it, what to do if things go wrong and what not to say EVER.

So if you have a difficult person and a really stressful situation that you’ve been avoiding, please join us:

?Session 1:???????????????16th May. NZ time 3:30 - 4:30 pm
