Dealing with Criticism

Whenever someone becomes a critic of your work, always ask yourself a few questions:

1. What is the intention? - is it to attack you and hurt you, or does the person want your genuine good? (or the good of your audience who follow your work)

2. What is the mode of delivery? - is it one to one, or in a closed group, or is it public (with the sole purpose to attack/insult you in front of others)

3. What is he/she saying? - is it based on facts, or just based on the critic's personal thought and beliefs (and if he or she is open / not open to accept the opinion of others)

4. Who is this person? What are his or her own achievements? Is he or she someone who you should pay attention to? Is he/she just a "talker") (In reference to my last post "Talkers vs. Do-ers")

5. Why does it matter? -

A) if what he or she is saying makes sense, if the intention is good, and the mode of delivery is polite and not attacking or insulting, and the person deserves your attention - you must accept what is being said, and reply with full positivity in your tone. Must thank the critic for his or her feedback, because this feedback would help you to grow and become a better person.

B) if the person is just a talker, and the intention is only to attack, the statements are just his or her own point of view and is not respectful of other people's points of views, etc. - then simply AVOID and do not waste your time. Trust me, I have done the mistake in "responding" to these "talkers" and every time it just wasted my time, energy and sucked out the positivity out of me.

Remember, the more you grow the more you become the competition of others. It is always lonely at the top, and people will always talk against you, will ridicule you. Because you are what they can never become, and I don't want you to make the same mistakes as me. Hence I have written this post for all of you who want to grow and become really successful in life.
