The unethical and unprofessional behavior of “Mr Grammy Award Winner” in Nigeria

Professionalism and the ethics of professionalism are two fundamental issues that differentiate a professional in any field of life from others who are not in that profession. Professionalism and the ethics of professionalism goes with distinctive values that one cannot just wake up one day and push such values away or into the waste bin. Take for instance you don’t expect the president of a country to misbehave in any occasion because he or she is guided by the professionalism and the ethics of that profession and position. As a professional banker I am guided by the ethics of my profession (the banking ethics and professionalism). The same thing goes with all other professions in this global world. The music and entertainment industry is not an exemption especially when it has to do with The Grammys or The Grammy Award.

What is a Grammy Award and who is eligible to take the Grammy Award? A Grammy Award is any of a series of awards presented each year in the United States of America by either the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences or the Latin Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences. The Grammys, as they are commonly known, are meant to recognize spectacular work in the music industry. So many important personalities across the world have received this award. The Grammy Award is like the world cup organized every four years by FIFA or the Champions League in the soccer world.

Was it a mistake to enlist a black man from Nigeria for the Grammy Award? No there was no mistake in the decision taken to honor the person to whom that honor was due. But the really mistake was the intoxicating power of the Grammy Award that pushed Mr. Grammy Award Winner to go after another man’s wife in a popular club in Victoria Island in Lagos Nigeria. As a professional with many years of studying human actions and intends I discovered that seven important factors gave Mr. Grammy Award the impetus to go after another man’s wife. The factors are discussed below.

1.????Mr. Grammy Award winner comes from a lawless society where you can do and undo and nobody will question you especially if the benchmark (money) is there with you to use as a key element in oppressing others. This was the number one impetus that gave him the power to ask for another man’s wife in the presence of the legal husband, what an intoxicating power of the Grammy pushing Mr. Grammy Award winner.

2.????The second reason is that Nigeria is the only country in the world where it is very difficult for someone to control his or her ego when he or she gets to a position he or she never expected in life. The egoism of an average Nigerian is something sociologist and psychologist are trying very hard to get the needed medication to cure the virus.

3.????The third factor that pushed Mr. Grammy Award winner into his bad action was the mentality that worse comes to worse he will get out of the country and use money to settle the authority concerned.

4.????The fourth factor is what we can find in the Holy Bible that pride goes before a fall.

5.????The fifth reason for his action is that Mr. Grammy was so visionless and aimless in taking vital decision. Where was his brand manager and brand promoter? Where was his personal assistance? As an important figure you don’t go about without all these people. They are the image builders that will tell you what to do per time.

6.????The most important factor that actually pushed Mr. Grammy into this immoral act is that he happens to be the very first from his village to get to such height of greatness. Do you then blame him (a one eye man among the blind people is a king).

7.????Finally Mr Grammy Award winner wanted to show his stuff.

Well this is a big lesson for upcoming stars to learn from. There is nothing like keeping the ethics and values of professionalism.
