I’ve called 2024 the Year of the Audience, which I firmly believe is being proven right now in the industry. In this article, I wanted to share a great case study which supports this claim. Dealers are looking for measurable strategies to improve the sales associated with their advertising campaigns, so this study felt perfectly timed for the current sales environment.
?Last year we partnered with Dealer eProcess, who is an Amazon Advertising Partner, to test our audience data in their Amazon advertising campaigns. As I’ve shared in previous LinkedIn articles, based on the Active Shopper Network?, less than 25% of the audiences being sold in the marketplace as “in-market” shoppers were actively shopping for a vehicle.

Putting Our Research to The Test
If our research was correct, the Amazon advertising powered by the Active Shopper Network? should significantly outperform the Amazon recommended audiences. We were so pleased to see the results of our partnership, which are displayed below:
The impact of our data (blue) can be clearly seen. We mapped exposed households to actual sales in the dealer’s DMS.? The orange elements showcase the historical impact of other audiences used for Amazon advertising mapped to sales in the DMS.
According to Megan Horton, VP of Product at Client Command, “From August 2023 to March 2024, for every 616 prospects targeted on Amazon from an Active Shopper list, a sales transaction occurred.” Megan’s analysis supports my thesis that 2024 is the year that dealers start to understand the power of high-quality audience data, which is mapped to Active Shoppers?.
