The Dead Are Walking at Moonshine Post, again

Moonshine is thrilled to be a part of another awesome opportunity to work on the iconic universe of “The Walking Dead” (this time for “The Return of Daryl Dixon”), servicing the world with online editing, final color grading and finishing.?

Stepping into familiar territory for the second time, we had the privilege of teaming up with post producer Todd Trotter and line producer Carlos Huizar, who we previously worked with on “”The Walking Dead: The Return”. This series has an interesting setup, similar to the format of “The Talking Dead”, but with its own unique charm.

On the post side, the experience was just as smooth as it was rewarding. "It was a fast timeline, but an easy process," says Moonshine Post Producer Caleb Wood, highlighting the efficiency of the workflow.?

The nine-day production timeline went by without a hitch, largely thanks to AVID consolidation, which made everything, as Moonshine Online Editor Neil Mikels puts it, "nice and breezy."?

Despite some standard blur-outs, Neil’s mastery over the project ensured that everything stayed on track for a flawless finish.

The retrospective also brings in heavyweights like Scott Gimple, the showrunner of “The Walking Dead”, and legendary FX artist Greg Nicotero, who was integral to creating some of the series’ most terrifying and iconic visuals. Greg’s no stranger to us either; we previously worked with him on “Creepshow”, another beloved Moonshine collaboration where his FX expertise took center stage.

In a standout moment for Caleb, this project felt like a significant career milestone. Working on this universe, with its massive cultural footprint, is not just a job—it’s an experience.

With the project wrapped in just two weeks and everything from start to finish smooth as ever, The Walking Dead: The Return of Daryl Dixon is yet another testament to Moonshine Post's dedication to delivering high-quality, timely work.?
