DCVI Inaugurates New Star Wagen Indonesia Dealership in Balikpapan

Balikpapan, 11 October 2024 – PT Daimler Commercial Vehicles Indonesia (DCVI), in partnership with PT Star Wagen Indonesia (SWI), has officially expanded its with the grand opening of a new authorized Mercedes-Benz Truck dealer in Balikpapan, East Kalimantan. This expansion reinforces DCVI’s commitment to supporting the vital mining and logistics industries in Kalimantan, providing sales and after-sales solutions that adhere to Daimler Truck's global standards.

As East Kalimantan's coal mining sector drives over 40% of the region's economic growth, this new dealership is strategically positioned to serve a growing demand for commercial vehicles. The development of Indonesia’s new capital, Ibu Kota Nusantara (IKN), has also accelerated growth in the construction and infrastructure sectors, further highlighting the need for reliable transportation solutions.

The dealership was inaugurated by Naeem Hassim (President Director of DCVI) and Iman Nur Wahyu (President Commissioner of SWI), marking a significant milestone in DCVI’s expanding network. "Mercedes-Benz Trucks hold over 60% market share in Kalimantan’s off-road segment, and this new facility is part of our ongoing efforts to enhance customer support," said Naeem Hassim during his speech. "Our integrated approach includes: (1) parts warehouses in Cikarang and Balikpapan, stocking over 10,000 parts, (2) the On-Site Parts Stock program, ideal for customers in remote areas, (3) comprehensive operator training by certified trainers, and (4) our advanced Fleetboard telematics solutions for both trucks and buses.”

The 1,500 square meters Star Wagen Indonesia dealership offers a modern workshop facility, including a parts warehouse capable of storing over 1,800 items, a 500 square meter office area, and a 3-bay workshop with a dedicated space for component overhauls. The workshop is equipped with a jib-crane to further enhance operational efficiency, ensuring an elevated level of customer service for clients across the region.
