DCN member councils triumph at MJ Awards

A Special Interest Group that provide a single voice for district councils within the Local Government Association.
DCN member councils were among the most prominent winners at the MJ Achievement Awards, which took place in London on Friday.
South Hams District Council and West Devon Borough Council, which share senior management, won the MJ’s Senior Leadership Team award.
Oxford City Council won the Leadership in Responding to the Climate Emergency accolade.
DCN member Somerset Council won the Innovation in Partnerships award for a partnership delivering children’s homes across the county. The council was working with care providers Homes2Inspire, part of the Shaw Trust, and Somerset NHS Foundation Trust on the project which will deliver 10 family-sized homes for children and 20 specialist foster carers.
And Theresa Leavy, Dorset Council’s Executive Director for Children’s Services, won the Corporate Director of the Year award.
Melton Borough Council chief executive Edd de Coverley was highly commended in the Chief Executive of the Year award.?
