Looking into the year of 2023, Anna expresses:?We stand here after probably one of the most difficult years any of us have ever experienced in China, personally and professionally, looking onto perhaps an even more precarious year ahead.?So now, post-COVID-19, and after three years behind closed borders, the role and responsibility that we hold as the Danish Chamber of Commerce and one of the official links between Denmark and China is vital.
The Ambassador Thomas ?strup M?ller opened the meeting with a full recognition to DCCC’s achievement in the year of 2022, to DCCC’s efforts and accomplishment despite the unpredictable challenges in China, especially in advocacy.?He also gave a full credit to Mathias Boyer, the outgoing Chairman of North Board, for what he did for DCCC and Danish business community.
The Ambassador also expressed his positive view on China’s economy and market in future, even though it takes extra efforts to get back to track, especially at the beginning of 2023. Changes will take place even though we have no indication yet. And for this reason, a particular and close attention to the upcoming Two Sessions is necessary.
Following the speech of the Ambassador, Bruce F. from APCO gave a closed-door offline seminar about Two Sessions.
The elected Moderator Morten Kruse invited 曹明思 Mathias Boyer, Chair of North Board to?present the Annual Report.?
Mathias paid attribution to the predecessors for the last 20 years since the establishment of Danish Chamber of Commerce in China, and expressed special thanks to the embassy and Missions in Shanghai and Guangzhou that without their support we couldn’t make it here. In 2022, as a newly combined chamber, DCCC defined our new mission: To be a highly member-centric and value-driven chamber of commerce - empowered by our community, and thank the great support from the members. In the times when China was drifting apart from the world, the role that DCCC played is crucial.

The Chairman highlighted the accomplishment of DCCC in 2022 in numbers: We grew our membership from 143 members nation-wide to 164, and created a new “All China Membership” category, in line with the combination of the Chapters. Under the new category, we have 15 All China members, and it also brought our first C-Table meeting. Together with the Embassy we conducted the Business Sentiment Survey where 75 companies and 65 participants took part in. DCCC also made remarkable progress in advocacy, including the symposium with Premier Li Keqiang at the 70th Anniversary of CCPIT. Despite the unpredictable situation in 2022, we also successfully organized meaningful offline events: Business Person of the Year, Danish Summer Night, Christmas Dinner in Shanghai, and more achievements elaborated in the Annual Report.?
The Annual Report was approved by the board and Anna presented a bouquet to the outgoing Chairman, expressing our sincere thanks from the Secretariat and all members.
Afterwards,?Stefano Censi, Treasure of North Board presented the state of accounts, and the amendment of by-laws was proceeded, both voted and approved by all members.?
