DBP conference 2024

What do we have to organize together so that if we can digitally submit the necessary aspects in structured information cointainers (3d openBIM models) for a first, and most important, environmental check in the building permit process? How do we give access to that data under what conditions. For how long can we have access and who is storing this data for the next 50 years? in what data-language? What do we need to put these openBIM data on the GIS maps that are available? What technology do we need for that? And also what human skills do people need to handle that data to get to the right information to make the right decisions?

I was lucky to be at the Digital Building Permit (DBP) Conference 2024 in Barcelona this week https://eu4dbp.net/dbpc24/ to see if anyone else was working on the further development of digital permitting processes to. What a fantastic event that was where the world came together for this topic.

Although submitting a building permit in The Netherlands has been done digitally for years (#Omgevingsloket) and we have a great new (#Digitaal Stelsel Omgevingswet) there are quite a few possibilities available that we could exploit for making a next step.

If we use and combine the available knowledge in and help each-other to put these pieces of the puzzle together there can be great advantages for the built environment.
