...Well I've been out walking
I don't do that much talking these days
These days
These days I seem to think a lot
About the things that I forgot to do…
I’m a huge Jackson Browne fan.? Like, really big. ‘These Days’, released the year I was born and written when the artist was only 16 or 17, has become an anthem for those who wrestle with regret. Jackson has an old soul way about him. No matter if I’m coming or going, his words and notes capture my exact feeling and state of mind, every time.
JB is always by my side. He’s been my steady companion on long road trips and work commutes. He was playing my favorite tune while I navigated the pandemic and sang me to sleep as I mourned the loss of my sweet horse, Admiral.
Music has a powerful way of reaching beyond our present surroundings, touching us deeply.? Isn’t it incredible how our favorite melody has this innate ability to say exactly what’s in our hearts, easing our burdens, with words that can’t be said out loud.?
Music unites us. Whether we raise a glass to celebrate or to remember those who knew us best. There’s nothing better than just the right key, with just the right note, to bring a feeling of peace.
I’ll never get tired of listening to Jackson Browne.? His songs are never boring or predictable, no matter how many times I play them, I always hear something new and different.??

Whether I’m playing or listening to him, his words fill me with love, hope, tenderness, regret, wistfulness, yearning, and joy.
As I sit here on my cornerstone, I can't help but wonder if you're reflecting on the songs that have shaped you. What lyrics have stayed with you long after the song has ended? As this year take it's final turn, I'd like to offer some words of advice: While enjoying your beloved classics or exploring fresh tunes, allow the melodies to transport you into the possibilities of your future.?
…These days I'll sit on cornerstones
And count the time in quarter tones to ten
My friend
Don't confront me with my failures
I had not forgotten them.
-Jackson Browne, Songwriter, Storyteller, & Musician
