Patience kya cheez hai?
Relativity is a very important word to be associated with patience. Yes – There is an inherent capability for patience in everybody. Meaning I might be more patient than u under similar circumstances. But when circumstances change even slightly the outcome changes substantially! The term patience is always relative.
Scenario1:
Case1: Daughter’s online class is going on which was supposed to be over by 940 and I have scheduled a very important call at 945. And I also need to make small changes in my online PPT. Class is getting dragged and my daughter is restless and wants to drink water again and again instead of listening and answering to the teacher’s question.
Case2: Daughter’s online class is going on which was supposed to be over by 940 and I have scheduled a call at 10. And my PPT is ready. Class is getting dragged and my daughter is restless and wants to drink water again and again instead of listening and answering to the teacher’s question.
Scenario2:
Case1: I need to pay salaries to my team on 30th of this month. And I am on 29 today with a deficit of X amount. And the accountant sends me an update that she had missed adding a bill of Rs.12000 and the deficit is X+12k now!
Case2: I need to pay salaries to my team on 30th of this month. And I am on 29 today comfortable with my cash flows with enough money in the account. And the accountant sends me an update that she had missed adding a bill of Rs.12000.
With small changes in the conditions my threshold for taking pressure and being patient changes drastically. If we ensure conditions are right we never need to really worry! But again conditions are relative! :-)
Do we respond to all inputs conscious of this? Are we supposed to be human or robots? Ram or Ravan?!
