The second day of Morningstar Sustainable Investment Summit 2023 was insightful and packed with panels and discussions about ESG investing and sustainable finance. Not only that, we had our Corporate Track delegates joining the conference on day 2. ??

We started day 2 strong with a keynote presentation from Cyril Garcia , Head of Global Sustainability Services and Corporate Responsibility at Capgemini. He outlined that business' made a good start with their sustainability efforts, but the pressure has never been so high towards corporates to deliver results. He shared his insights of how the ecosystem can pick up the pace and what they are doing at Capgemini .?
An insightful panel discussion took place on the main stage moderated by Lindsey Stewart , Morningstar's Director of Investment Stewardship Research. With his panelists, they examined the ways investment leaders from different areas of the market are ensuring sustainability rhetoric is matched by strategic action.?
Meanwhile on the Corporate Track, Morningstar's Charity Blue hosted a panel discussion where representatives from among others Royal Philips and Ahold Delhaize explained how their companies make concrete steps towards operating in a more sustainable way, and also about making an impact to societies. Philips for example makes an impact thought making medical technology accessible to groups of people for whom that is difficult to afford.???

Sessions were not only hosted in the main stage area. During the networking lunch and coffee break, different sponsor sessions were hosted at the exhibit halls. Janus Henderson highlighted some of the impact of growing water scarcity on businesses and the role of investors in addressing water security.
?Invesco revealed the power of "S" in the ESG, explaining how we can integrate a social dimension seamlessly, without compromising risk and return profile. Furthermore, JP Morgan Asset Management explored more on how investors can combine fundamental insights with ESG data and ratings to align portfolios with sustainable principles. Fidelity shared their view, experience and expertise on the standard for climate impact investing in the world of real estate. And finally, Carmignac presented key consideration for investors on the impact on prices and inflation given the dynamics of the energy transition.?
