Day of the Seafarers in 2022 | What Do You Think of Seafarers
Seafarers are a group and a profession. In the eyes of many people, it is a mysterious industry. June 25 is the 12th Day of the Seafarers. E-PORTS has prepared a "big gift package for epidemic prevention" for seafarers all over the world. It is to thank these heroes on the retrograde sea and their "mysterious" contributions to the world's supply chain!?
A long time ago, seafarers were a desirable profession. They could sail around the world, go to many different countries, see scenes that other people could not see, and enjoy many delicious foods at sea. Later, with the development of land economy, people began to work more on land, and gradually ignored the job at sea. Today, with the opening of the Maritime Silk Road and the unstoppable development of maritime transport, seafarers are indispensable. The profession of seaman has gradually regained our attention.
From the interview, we can see that not many people actually know the profession of seaman. More people feel that this job is far away from the mainland and is in danger at any time. They do not want to engage in this profession. In fact, E-PORT Sconducted a series of exclusive interviews with seafarers recently. The "boat running" life they described is actually not as dangerous as people on land think, but they often encounter some more dangerous situations because of typhoons. Let's take a look at the work of seafarers through the memory of a captain!?
"Once we received a notice from the company's weather forecast that there was a severe typhoon. We decided to leave the typhoon zone just before the typhoon, considering the typhoon path, moving speed and the expected route of our ship. Although we were sure to make such a decision, I asked the chief officer and the chief engineer to do a good job of typhoon prevention, fix and bind all movable things, and then the ship moved forward at full speed to rush out of the typhoon Well, just when we thought we were out of danger, we still felt the aftershock of the typhoon. That was the most serious rocking of the ship I had ever experienced. Everyone walked like drunk. They could only walk by holding onto the handrail. Eating in the restaurant, they saw a pot of hot soup flying out of our eyes. Sleeping at night threw me off the bed to the floor. Bottles and cans in the room, the buckets rolled around and didn't bother to clean up. They kept holding on to their beds until dawn, waiting for the typhoon to leave. Our cargo ship is really a leaf boat in the strong winds and waves of the ocean. The crew also needs extraordinary courage and strong physique to overcome seasickness and ensure the ship's safe arrival at the next port. "

The crew, who are hardworking, courageous, happy and responsible, have different life experiences. They have visited many countries, ports and wharves in the world, communicated with people from various countries, and felt the customs of foreign lands. They have seen the rough waves, the rising and setting of the sun, and the rolling clouds. Their age ranges from the post-60s to the post-00s. Some of them are experienced, and some of them are energetic when they first leave school. Most of them are the pillars of the family. They all have their own identities: father, son and brother. They work with specific positions and titles, such as captain, chief officer, sailor and chief engineer.?
Although we can't witness the tremendous contributions made by seafarers to the world supply chain, each of us is enjoying the benefits they bring. This year is the 12th Day of the Seafarers. Let's shout for seafarers and say thanks!
