In the latest episode of Confessions of an Agency Owner, I welcome David Wynne, CEO of Red Badger to find out what it's like to build a 100 strong person agency.?
In 2010, along with his 2 co-founders, David quit his job with a large consulting firm to start their own agency and a dream to work with the biggest brands, on the most complicated projects.?
Using their savings they were close to giving up when they managed to win their first contract with BMW and that was the start of a journey which has seen them grow to a team of over 100 people and build digital products for brands like Nandos, HSBC, Financial Times, Sky Sports and the BBC.?
As someone who has been there and done it, I was keen to uncover the struggles, the successes and the biggest lessons he’d learnt along the way.?

What's happening in Search?
There's lots going on in the world of Search at the moment and with just over a week until the Google Analytics apocalypse marketers across the globe are shaking in their boots.
According to BuiltWith more than 375,000 of the world’s top 1 million trafficked websites are still using UA so assuming that all of those abandoning UA are now fully converted to GA4, that means just 12% of sites have made the transition fully, and few have been confident enough to turn UA off.?
Another feature to soon be lost are the Google Ads attribution models which will be retired in mid-July. These rule based models include first click, linear, time decay and position based attribution so if you account has been using these models you can continue to use them until September when they will disappear completely.
New Performance Max Features in Google Ads ??
It's not all doom and gloom though, with lots of advancements and new features coming out at the moment. And our Paid Ads team are very excited about some new Performance Max features coming to Google Ads.

We've launched some new events at Honcho and our first roundtable on the impact of AI in Digital Marketing is due to be hosted in London on July 6th.

A Day at the Races! ????
We're loving summer and enjoying the great weather at Honcho. The team have been in the Honcho pool a couple of times and we've had a couple of great team building events including a BBQ and rounders match in May and this week we took the team to Royal Ascot for a day at the races.
There was lots of laughter and I think it might just have to become an annual event. We even got to see King Charles and Camilla! ??
