A Day Of Possibilities

When I woke up this morning, I didn’t expect to be speaking on BBC Radio. It was definitely a surprise.

The slot was booked for 9:50am and I spent the next 2 hours worrying myself stupid and thinking about ways I could get out of it. It was way out of my comfort zone.

Suddenly, it was 9.50am and I was on. Me, speaking to the listeners about scam telephone calls like I was an expert. Which of course, I am as we take hundreds over the course of a week on behalf of our clients. I don’t feel like the expert – I always think I’m going to be found out which is ridiculous.

The subject was due to a ruling about cold calling people about pensions and pension reviews. These calls are now banned. The programme host wanted to know how many other telephone scams were around, particularly as some are becoming very convincing and catching people unawares. Scams should be reported to Action Fraud to see if they can trace the culprit.

No sooner was I on the radio, it was all over and I was off. I absolutely loved it and despite wanting to make excuses not to do it earlier, I wanted it to go on for much longer. There was so much more I could have said. (or bore everyone with!)

Before the call, a friend messaged me on Facebook. She said she’d changed the words Comfort Zone and renamed them The Curiosity Zone. I think that's a much better term, don't you?

At the start of the new year, we often think about the endless possibilities we have over the next 365 days and it’s exciting. 365 blank pages of a book yet to be written. Opportunities will come along when they are least expected and it’s up to all of us to grab them with both hands and run with them and see where they go.

Doesn't that that make life so much more exciting?
