Day at Ounass - Talent Acquisition Edition
1.?What is your life as an Assistant Talent Acquisition Manager like?
Being part of the People & Culture team is like wearing different hats. Day in and day out, you can be juggling a lot of things. The advantage of working in a small lean team is not just recruiting for the team but also looking after other aspects of the employee journey like employee wellbeing, and employee engagement. Being a people person, I like to see our Ounassers happy and making them feel that they are part of a bigger family and we truly care and value them is a huge aspect of my role. I feel immensely rewarded that I am supporting the company’s biggest asset – Our People.
2. Give us a peek into your regular workday
My day kicks off with a nice cup of coffee to get the ball rolling. No two days are the same within our team and company. As a recruiter I spend my day browsing job platforms, interacting with stakeholders about what they're looking for and expecting from a new hire, researching ways to better our employee journey, and meeting new people. As a recruiter, you are the first touch point and interaction the candidate has with the company, so I always ensure to keep my candidates engaged. It's very important to keep your candidates updated about various stages and their progress. ?
3. What's something you've learned over time?

Company culture is everything!
A great company culture attracts the right kind of talent who in return also want to work and be part of the evolution. Being innovative, collaborative, and supportive all inspire the team to be more productive and help with their self-development. Keep in mind, it is not always that the company chooses its employees in today’s time, the candidates equally choose the company they want to work and be associated with.
4. Any advice for budding People & Culture enthusiasts?
Be open-minded, approachable, and objective, all while ensuring to connect with the team as much as you can. It is very important to also have a core business sense and a positive influence on the business. People & Culture is not just a function to be approached when things aren't going well, it's an influential contributor to the overall success of the business.
