After almost 50 years in business, I know this one thing to be true.
?Everyone has their first day on the job.
?If we start a new career, new business, or enter into a new relationship, there’s always day one.
?None of us will be perfect right away.? We'll make mistakes and incorrect assumptions.
?Brian Tracy says,
You can only grow if you are willing to feel awkward and uncomfortable when you try something new.
When we go after something big, we must be willing to be, not so great, at first. It’s because everything is hard until it isn’t. It’s also unfamiliar and we worry about failing.
So, here’s four steps to get you off and running to be great at your new endeavor:
?I’m writing and filming this in the first week of the new year.? It’s when a lot of people decide it’s time for a change: Better career, better habits, a new relationship, or maybe starting a new business.
?So, here’s your Action Item and Mission, should you decide to accept it: Do you have a New Year’s Resolution that you’re about to jump into?? Prepare yourself by knowing it won’t be perfect on day one.
The secret successful people know is this: They embrace being a beginner. They understand that temporary discomfort leads to permanent growth. While others wait for perfect conditions, people who eventually succeed take imperfect action.

1 个月Great post! I completely agree that everything is hard until it isn't. In my experience, the key to overcoming challenges is to break them down into smaller, more manageable tasks. This not only makes the task at hand less daunting, but it also allows for a sense of progress and accomplishment as each task is completed. Additionally, seeking out support and guidance from others can be incredibly helpful in navigating difficult situations. Whether it's a mentor, colleague, or friend, having someone to bounce ideas off of and provide perspective can make all the difference. Thanks for sharing!
