Q: Can you explain what your role entails?

A: A lot of what I do centers around solving the business and users' problems regarding our different products. I use a human-centered design thinking approach to solve problems. I have to make sure to create a straightforward and delightful user experience as well. To achieve this, I start by specifying business goals and user goals for each project. I always plan and conduct research to have a better understanding of our users. Then I take my learnings and apply them to our products. After launching each design we always make sure to keep track of the outcomes to iterate the design as many times as possible until we achieve our goals for projects.

Q: What’s the coolest thing you’re working on right now?

A: One of the coolest things that I am working on right now is our search experience. For this project, I am responsible for not only optimizing the customer experience but also redesigning how users discover and engage with products. I need to have a good understanding of our users' needs when visiting this page to map out the best possible flow. We want to make sure that this flow helps users to achieve their goals easily. We are all excited to test this new flow and measure the outcomes.

Q: What are your favorite things about working at Centerfield?

A: One of the most important things that I like about Centerfield is the culture. I like the collaborative attitude that we have on our team and in the company in general. We also get to do so many fun things in our virtual events and workshops besides our work.

Q: Any advice for people wanting to do what you do?

A: Try to have empathy with people by being a good listener. Also, don't be afraid to ask questions. Knowing how to ask questions and listen to your users is an important skill that can help you make better design decisions.

Q: Can you share a WFH tip?

A: Leave work at work, and enjoy your evening as you typically would. I think this is especially important when you are working from home. Make sure to have a specific area to work and when you’re no longer required to be online or take a meeting, let that room or desk chill out and change your space.
