Day In The Life: Simone Chatterton, Commercial Project Manager

Day In The Life: Simone Chatterton, Commercial Project Manager

15 - Wake up! I love waking up early and will try to either get outside to the park, a spin class or do some yoga in my living room.

30 - Grab a coffee (cafe coffee always tastes so much better!)?and head back home.

00 - I like to use this time for focus tasks without interruption before the day kicks off and everyone is online.

15 - Check in with my direct team (Sarah?& Umaymah) and align on priorities, review any risks, and review what we need the wider teams to focus on for delivery?for the day.

45 - Stand up with cross-functional delivery team, ensuring everyone is aligned?on launches?and priority for delivery for the day, setting targets?and priority?to support overarching timelines!

00 - Daily meetings?with teams to hone in on detail for upcoming launches. Focus is usually on new brands which we are developing products for (digital or physical). Then I'm supporting teams with any info, briefs or wider context they need in order to execute on delivery. We use Asana for project management, and within my team we work in the platform constantly to add information, resources and updates in one spot so that it is visible to anyone involved in any given project.

00 - Lunch time! (Although I for sure have already had a mid morning coffee break / snack). For lunch I normally take a working lunch?and make something in my kitchen if I am at home. If I'm in the office, I'll head outside for some fresh air with someone else from the team.

00 - Where any new activity has been confirmed, this will be mapped?and tasks assigned per department (again with detail required so teams are able to execute)?and kick off meetings booked so teams are aligned on the commercial plan. Weekly we have meetings per departments to set priority for the delivery planning for the week.

00 - Checking that anything launching on the day has been approved, checked?and tested so we're ready to set live!

00 - Forward planning of projects. My role needs to zoom out from the daily task management and ensure the business is prepared and informed for upcoming activity for the next 1-2 months. Reviewing priority, potential crunches?and capacity impact, potential delays, and?raising risks with my manager so that we're as prepared as we can be to meet agreed timelines.

00 - Reporting time! Reporting from our department is daily, weekly?and monthly, so each day I try to carve out some time to work on each. As a project manager, it's key to the role to update teams on activity progress, changes to plans, risks, and blockers that need attention. Genflow uses various communication platforms, and this can sometimes mean we need to confirm things in various spots to ensure nothing is missed.

00 - End of day reporting is finalised. I follow up with the teams on progress made during the day, and then refine my tasks, diary?and focus for the next day.

30 - As I prefer to start work early, by this stage of the day I am ready to enjoy some time either unwinding at home or getting ready to head out for dinner with my boyfriend or friends.
