A Day in the Life of a Shopping Centre Manager: Robert Bradley

Robert B. is currently the Shopping Centre Manager of Castle Quarter Shopping Centre, working for Munroe K, with over 20 years' experience within the sector.

Morning Routine:

The early bird catches the worm, or in my case, the best parking spot! I'm usually up before everyone else as?seven rescue cats & a dog don't let?you stay in bed. A strong cup of coffee is a must, followed by a quick scan of the news and industry updates. Then it's a brisk walk with the dog (Harvey our office dog aka The Boss) – a bit of fresh air and a walk get the mind and body ready for the day. And of course, no morning is complete without a hearty breakfast. Can't run the Castle Quarter on an empty stomach!

Workday Highlights:

Every day at Castle Quarter is different, which is what I love about it. One minute I'm meeting with potential new tenants, discussing exciting opportunities for the Quarter, the next I'm troubleshooting a leaky pipe. There's always something to keep me on my toes. The real highlight, though, is seeing the Quarter buzzing with activity – happy shoppers, families enjoying our leisure facilities, the whole place just brimming with life. That's what makes it all worthwhile.

Lunchtime Escape:

Lunchtime is my chance to recharge and refocus. Sometimes I'll grab a quick bite at one of our fantastic cafes – shout out to Café UFO – but if the weather's nice, I like to escape to the Castle Gardens above the Quarter for a bit of peace and quiet and then I'm ready to tackle the afternoon.

Post-Work Delights:

After a busy day, I love nothing more than spending time with my family. We might cook a nice meal together, watch a film, or just relax and chat. I love photography, so you might find me tinkering with my cameras or out on a?photography?walk.? Of course, there's always time for a bit of TV before bed, I like a good paranormal investigation & I am currently enjoying Project Fear (not the Brexit variety) & Ghost Club Paranormal.

Closing Thoughts:

The key to a successful day? Stay flexible, embrace the unexpected, and never lose sight of the bigger picture. Oh, and don't forget to have a bit of fun along the way! After all, life's too short to take everything too seriously.? Most importantly?be humble & treat everyone with respect.

If you're looking for new opportunities with Placemaking, or if you're looking to boost your network within the sector, please reach out and I'd be happy to have a discussion!
