Shruthi Sharma
Senior Brand Manager at Novo Nordisk India| Delivering High-Impact Launch Strategies| Multichannel Engagement and Activation
Here we wanted to give you a glimpse of our 4 wonderful journeys upto date regarding IO Graduate Programme. All of us are currently in Headquarters in Denmark in our second stint. To summarize, IO Graduate Programme is a 2 year rotational journey that is intended to shape young graduate's career via 3 holistic business rotations. The first stint is always in home country where you are recruited from, second being in Headquarters and third being in an affiliate or regional office. Meet Christian from Indonesia, Fadoua from Algeria, Catalina from Colombia and me (Shruthi) from India who will try to give you an on ground experience trail via our own personal journeys.
Meet Christian from Indonesia, who is currently in his second rotation in Global Brand Team for a key diabetes brand
As a Novo Nordisk IO Business Graduate, we work hand-in-hand to improve lives of patients all around the world. We come from countries in Asia, Europe, Africa, and Latin America. We have the opportunity to become the front-runners of change and innovation. There are endless development opportunities through day-to-day work, internal training, and networking. One amazing thing about being a graduate in Novo Nordisk is that we are given the opportunity to learn and grow together as we strive for continuous improvements every single day. The projects available are highly diverse and complete in scope. Every moment is memorable and teaches you invaluable lessons for your future career goals. This is the right place to be to kick-start your career.
Meet Fadoua from Algeria who is also currently in her second rotation in Global Brand team for key diabetes brand/s
Working for Novo Nordisk was my very first professional experience, from my first manager to my first favourite colleague, my first work mistake and my very first career success. I worked for almost a year and a half with the marketing team in my home country affiliate, where I had time to get familiar with the new working environment, to learn more about this life-science company and how to drive change to defeat diabetes and other serious chronic diseases. During my first rotation, I mainly worked on product management and have always thought that the best career move that I can make is joining the marketing global team in Denmark and this is how I kicked off my international experience. I joined the New Generation Insulins team in Copenhagen and got to work on an unbranded project while supporting a variety of initiatives across the brand team and this comes to complement my previous experience at the affiliate where marketing is more operational. Working with a global team is exciting for many reasons, I get to know and work with top talent from all over the world and meet experts selected from a global pool. It gives me much clearer and more realistic view of the world and encourages the development of a positive mindset. In my team you can find Danish, American, Italian, German, Lebanese, Mexican, Turkish, Indian and French amazing colleagues, and this is the incarnation of the sayings “strength lies in differencesâ€.
Meet Catalina from Colombia who is currently in her second rotation in Digital Health team
Being part of Novo Nordisk is waking up every day with the purpose of improving patients’ lives. Each one of us “Graduates†has different roles around the company, but we all are working forward from different fronts to achieve that same goal.
Every day working at Novo Nordisk is unique, we do not follow a specific template. Every single day you will be facing new challenges, making each day a learning experience. In each rotation, you will be responsible for driving several projects to success. But a typical day is also about building up your networking and trying to learn the most from your team, mentors, and stakeholders.
Meet Shruthi from India , currently in her second rotation in Commercial Planning team
Working in Novo Nordisk as an IO graduate , opens your doors to make an impact everyday. After having a ground perspective in India (my home market) , I have had a good understanding of the various challenges and opportunities. Coming to headquarters, in my team, we look at "why" of things and customer insights . Trying to understand new therapy areas, learning new skills everyday (even when you are novice) like data visualization, market research surely makes me go out of my comfort zone. This is the best quality of the program as each day you are enrolled into different challenges and perspectives from diverse teams. If there are 3 words I would associate with this program : Development, Flexibility and Global Exposure!
