Do you have a favorite EBSCO memory?
One of my favorite memories at EBSCO was shortly after I joined in 2011. During the “Festivus” holiday celebration, everyone dressed up and participated in fun activities, like competing to build the best mini-golf track, a Yankee swap, and pie throwing—where the management team volunteered to get pie’d! There was also a live music jam session and plenty of food. It was amazing to see everyone come together and celebrate like a big family.
When did you first know you wanted to pursue a career at EBSCO Information Services?
Twenty years ago, I began my career in performance testing, helping customers ensure their web applications were optimized for end users. After completing my master’s in information systems, I joined EBSCO in 2011. Over the years, I’ve taken on various roles, but the common thread throughout has been my passion for problem-solving. Now, in the reliability space, I have the opportunity to tackle challenges across all departments in the organization.
What are some important lessons you’ve learned in your career?
Over the years, I've taken on various roles in different teams, both in my previous organization and at EBSCO. One of the key lessons I've learned is the importance of continuous learning, embracing change, and solving problems. Whether you're in a technical or non-technical role, in a professional setting or even in personal life, the ability to adapt, take on new challenges, and move forward is crucial.
What would your perfect weekend look like?
My perfect weekend is an unplanned road trip with my family to a new location, exploring and being amazed by whatever surprises nature has in store for us.
What is something surprising that not many people know about you?
I have a sweet tooth and love indulging in desserts, but I can't stand chocolate-flavored ones—especially chocolate ice cream! The only exception is actual chocolate bars.
