A Day in the Life of a Chief Regeneration Officer in the year 2026

Chief Regeneration Officer's Log, August 2026

Hello fellow Regenovators

Many of you asked me to write more about my role as a topic for my monthly?blog posts on our global Regeneration Pathways community platform.

I'll start with answers to frequently asked questions about a Day in My Life as Chief Regeneration Officer.??

My favourite music: Listening to nature

I enjoy listening to?nature sounds .

Here is a link where you will find soundscapes from the World's First Certified Wilderness Quiet Park - Zabalo River, Ecuador,?recorded by Josh Borman from the Cofan Tribe .

How I start my day: The Daily Executive Team Morning Meeting

I always look forward to our daily executive team conversations...

Our hour-long meetings are held in the company's?Rewilding Gardens .?We have check-in and goal setting conversations, while doing some gardening and learning from each other about the undomesticated world and how humans can live in harmony with non-human-made ecosystems.

Hosting meetings in our Rewilding Gardens help us stay grounded in nature-connection and affinity, and inspires our own practices for?biophilic design .?

It's also good for our individual and team productivity, creative problem solving and solutions development.?

Starting our working day with an hour of digital-free time does wonders for our wellbeing and team relationships. It also helps our brain health and regulation, especially during stressful times.

Getting our hands dirty (so to speak) remind us to think like?rewilding-gardeners , and to balance our digital economy and business modelling aspirations.

My specialty is growing edible wild flowers. The executive team, board and even stakeholder meetings often end up in the Wildflower Sanctuary - who does not appreciate the beauty of flowers and the ecosystems they support? ??

My daily motivation: Our Mission

When I reach my office, I spend an hour or so focusing on our mission.?

Currently I am studying the board's draft regenerative business transformation priorities list.?The board created this based on all our teams' input, as well as data gathering on our Regenerative Pathways Platform.

1. We don't try and boil the ocean: Our lifeboat goal is to enable our clients to rewild the world (restore undomesticated nature).

2. We design and develop new entrepreneurial knowledge value and digital asset value creation and exchanges.

3. Our multi-disciplinary approaches generate economics for protecting and regenerating biodiversity to restore the capacity of the the earth's biosphere to maintain the conditions for life.

4. We role model what it means to shift to regenerative patterns by working as decentralized, autonomous, self-managed teams and networks.

5. We establish participative and poly-centric governance where nature also has a voice and rights.

6.?We develop pragmatic and scalable low-tech and high-tech solutions contributing to the real economy.

7. Combined with action research and scaleable, organic network effects, we change the way our clients organize their business.

8. We help our clients rethink who participate in regenerative business innovation, including value creation, value exchanges and distribution.

9. We establish network effects to transform policy that hinder regenerative business.

Where I spend most of my time: Pathways to success

For the next two weeks I am?contributing to?our Decentralized Regeneration MakerSpaces .

A new client assignment?requires the design and development of a board game for a regenerative tourism pilot project at a popular wild-swimming?destination.

We were asked to use a regenerative game-engineering approach to prevent pollution (including trash, noise and air pollution) and encourage clearing up of plastic and oil pollution on popular beaches.?

The anticipated digital assets value exchange marketplace will initially focus on large cruise ships, pleasure boat owners and local fishermen.

?I was invited to present a point of view on considerations for gamification design based on the?Prosperity Game , in particular key elements such as minimal viable salaries with contextual reward systems.

I am keen to study the results of our proposed action research for this client project to determine how incentive design such as "a win in the Prosperity Game is when the player having the lowest monetary amount has doubled their original stake" will play out on the ground, how it generates real economic benefits and hope to find surprising new data and ideas emerging from it.

End of my working day: Goals review, progress and impact

Reviewing our Regeneration Pathways Community Dashboard as results matter

We are still accountable to each other and our investors, which means sustainable and measurable financial outcomes, client satisfaction that outperforms traditional innovation approaches, credible impact in the real and digital economy, progress in cultural shifts, and viable regenerative impact networks and market places.

At the end of each working day I spend two hours reviewing dashboards on our Regeneration Pathways community platform.?

This dedicated time also provides me with the opportunity to learn from all of you about new perspectives, problem solving techniques and tools, approaches, emerging community assets, and potential new risks and opportunities.

What keeps me awake at night: Navigating?bureaucracies

I find the amount of investment in time and effort to navigate the world of professional membership policy changes quite surprising.?

However, will be impossible to achieve the goals of regeneration if professional organizations for accountants, lawyers, physicians, bankers, engineers, computer scientists and career government officials do not evolve their worldviews, policies, ethics and best practices standards.?

My ask:?Please don't hesitate if you have tips, lessons learnt and suggested solutions on how we can accelerate regenerative mindsets and cultures in professional and government organizations.?

Closing thoughts...

My mandate changed quite a bit during the past five years.?

Originally I was appointed in a strategic risk mitigation capacity to help our company:

  • Plan to prepare for future of multiple crisis happening at the same time
  • Provide confidence and trust in the future
  • Alignment for resilience and anti-fragility for future structural events

Thanks to you, today we are not just about mitigating strategic risk - we are innovators creating more than 20% of our company's revenue. Our work is profitable and with measurable customer and employee satisfaction that outperforms the rest of the company.
